VISIT STANTHORPE: CASTLE GLEN, an award-winning winery, liqueur manufacturer, brewery and distillery – a leader dedicated to producing preservative free and chemical free alcohol products. This distinctive distillery was a finalist in the Australian Distiller of the Year 2015 and has won an astonishing number of awards. Castle Glen ‘Castle in a Valley’ was established in 1990 by Cedric Millar, and is located on the Granite Belt with a truly amazing Cellar Door. This family business has stood the test of time and has created a reputation in the market place for a ‘world class’ product range of table, fortified and sparking wines, liqueurs (try their Gold Medal winner Rum and Ginger Liqueur), beer and distilled products, all made by Cedric – winemaker, liqueur maker, brewer and distiller. Castle Glen produces 50 tonnes of grapes in full production and is known for its organic grape growing practice, which ensures that a natural product is presented to the customer. Castle Glen Brewery makes a diverse range of beers from the Pale to Double Darks and has established its name in producing an Apple and Pear Cider. Yum! Their award-wining liqueurs are manufactured using the traditional English method of fermentation and fortification using the freshest, ripest, raw natural ingredients. Castle Glen’s Crème Liqueurs are a ‘world first’, with no dairy, no fat and no egg, and last up to 5 years opened. Pick up one of their brochures at the Stanthorpe Visitor Information Centre and be blown away by the range of choice. Head for ‘The Castle’ at 3184 Amiens Road, The Summit (north of Stanthorpe – GPS 3184 Amiens Road, Thulimbah). Phone them on (07) 4683 2363 if you get lost, or email them at info@castleglenaustralia.com for directions. Castle Glen is open from 10.00 a.m. to 4.00 p.m. 7 days a week.
